Digital electricity technology sends electricity in brief packets that contain energy and data. The safe transfer of each packet is verified at the source and destination using a protocol called Packet Energy Transfer or PET. If an exposed conductor is touched, or the wire is short circuited or incorrectly installed, the transmitter will detect the error and stop sending energy within 0.003 seconds. Even when transferring thousands of Watts of power, digital electricity networks can be installed at much lower cost, without conduit or armored cabling, using only technician-grade labor in the same fashion as Ethernet cable. Moreover, the technology has embedded data capabilities for energy management, monitoring and control.

VoltServer has completed dozens of digital electricity installations that include hi-rises, stadiums, conference centers and hospitals. This will be the first presentation addressing data centers. Data will be presented demonstrating an OCP compatible power supply being powered with digital electricity. The only inputs to the supply will be a hybrid copper-fiber cable channeling both high bandwidth data for use by the servers and digital electricity.
