Intel and Quanta recently collaborated on an Open Rack demo to showcase Intel technology and provide a software development vehicle for Intel Rack Scale Architecture (RSA).  The demo rack was shown at OCP summit 2015, and the past two Intel Developer Forum (IDF) events.  Two of the unique features of the demo are the rack management backplane and rack-level cooling.  The existing Open Rack standard does not address rack-level management or cooling.  Now, Intel and Quanta are submitting design guides for the backplane connector and shared cooling module to Open Rack.  In this talk, Intel will share the details presented in the design guides, and lead a discussion on how such features could be standardized for Open Rack.
